The Journal of Sustainability Education (JSE) serves as a forum for academics and practitioners to share, critique, and promote research, practices, and initiatives that foster the integration of economic, ecological, and social-cultural dimensions of sustainability within formal and non-formal educational contexts.
David S. Heroux is Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) and teaches courses in general chemistry, nanotechnology and environmental chemistry. He has had a lifelong passion for issues related to the environment and sustainability. He has been a member of UMF’s Sustainable Campus Coalition (SCC) since he joined the faculty in 2004 and is the creator of the idea for the Green’s List. He has assisted in many other SCC activities from picking through trash bags on the Quad to collecting and weighing food waste in the cafeteria. Outside of the classroom and lab Dave finds time to enjoy the mountains of western Maine by either riding the lifts up in the winter or ascending by foot in the summer. MORE
Grace Eason is an associate professor of science and science education at the University of Maine Farmington. Her teaching and research interests include service learning in undergraduate environmental science, student reflective practices and Parker Palmer’s Courage to Teach principles focusing on the identity and integrity of the teacher. Grace is also one of the faculty coordinators of the UMF Sustainable Campus Coalition.
