Elizabeth Hurley serves as a faculty member in the Master of Natural Resources programs and as Assistant Director for Special Initiatives for the Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability at Virginia Tech. Previously, she worked as an environmental educator for Fairfax County School System and environmental economist at SAIC where she conducted cost-benefit analyses for EPA’s storm water and drinking water programs. Elizabeth is a PhD student in the College of Natural Resources and Environment at Virginia Tech and holds a Master of Natural Resources from Virginia Tech, and an MS in Agricultural and Natural Resource Economics from the University of Maryland. eliza17@vt.edu MORE
Michael Mortimer is the Founding Director of the Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability at Virginia Tech. Dr. Mortimer has taught both undergraduates and graduate students over the last two decades in the fields of environmental law and policy, conflict management, and global issues. He holds a PhD from the University of Montana, a JD from Pennsylvania State University, and a BA from Washington and Jefferson College. MORE
Mr. Abrams is a Senior Fellow and Adjunct Faculty with the Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability (CLiGS). He teaches courses in Leadership, Team Performance, Conflict, Influence, Decisions, Negotiation, and Collaborative Innovation. As a CLiGS Senior Fellow, he participates in developing strategic direction and educational programming as well as providing advice on business development strategy. He has publications on group decision processes in the Journal of Military Medicine and Phytopathology. His personal research interests include the intersection of neuroscience, social psychology, and leadership. He received his Master’s degree in International Management, Finance, and International Political Economy from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. MORE
David P. Robertson is the Founding Director of the Executive Master of Natural Resources (XMNR) program and Senior Fellow and Associate Director at the Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability at Virginia Tech. Dr. Robertson has two decades of experience as a professional educator and sustainability leader including program development and teaching in numerous countries in the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Europe. Dr. Robertson’s publications appear in the popular, academic, and professional press, David holds a PhD and Master of Landscape Architecture degree from Virginia Tech and a BA in Art & Architecture from Montana State University.
