The Journal of Sustainability Education (JSE) serves as a forum for academics and practitioners to share, critique, and promote research, practices, and initiatives that foster the integration of economic, ecological, and social-cultural dimensions of sustainability within formal and non-formal educational contexts.
Amy Vinlove is an Assistant Professor of Education at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and has been working with the elementary teacher preparation program at UAF since 1999. As a lifelong Alaskan, she would place herself in this article’s framework as “established, but not Indigenous.” Her research focus is on preparing new teachers to work with diverse populations and to learn with, from, and about their local communities.
