The Journal of Sustainability Education (JSE) serves as a forum for academics and practitioners to share, critique, and promote research, practices, and initiatives that foster the integration of economic, ecological, and social-cultural dimensions of sustainability within formal and non-formal educational contexts.
Chiara is a mother, educator, researcher, writer, community organizer, and environmental consultant. She lives in Columbia, Maryland where she serves as the founder and director of Columbia Families in Nature, president of Trilogy Eco-Systems Solutions, and president of The Community Ecology Institute. Her work is focused on understanding the effects of time spent in nature on personal, social, and ecological well-being. Clare Hintz is the editor in chief of the Journal of Sustainability Education. Clare has a Ph.D. in Sustainability Education with a focus on Regenerative Agriculture. She has been teaching sustainable agriculture and permaculture since 1998, and has additionally developed curricula for the University of Wisconsin, River Falls, University of Minnesota, Duluth, Northland College, and Prescott College. She is a permaculture consultant in the Midwest, U.S. Her research focuses on arts-informed inquiry, regenerative agriculture, place, and ecofeminism. Cirien Saadeh is a journalist, educator, and student in Prescott College’s Sustainability Education program in Arizona. As a Ph.D. student, Saadeh develops community-based journalism trainings and is developing a cooperative journalism model based in low-income communities. She currently works as a freelance journalist. Much like her academic focus, Saadeh’s professional focus stands at the intersection of journalism and social movement development. In the past, she has worked for La Asamblea de Derechos Civiles-MN in media & communications organizing, E-Democracy, in communications and outreach, and with The UpTake (a nationally-recognized online news organization), as journalist and Community Manager. She has also served as the executive producer for AM950’s “Food Freedom Radio.” A graduate of the Organizing Apprenticeship Project in Minnesota, Cirien has been active in campaigns around transit equity, food justice, digital access and inclusion, and immigrant justice. ... Dr. Jeremy Solin is the Wisconsin Coordinator and National Program Manager of ThinkWater, a national campaign supported by USDA to help people of all backgrounds and ages think and care deeply about water.
